Valérie Dumaine is a Montreal-based designer specializing in "slow fashion" since 20 years. She draws inspiration from the past and creates refined and daring clothing for women, characterized by defined and elegant lines that are both timeless and trendy.
Valérie Dumaine has always been passionate about animal welfare. She created the "Design and Compassion" series, which allowed a percentage of sales from the collection to be donated to organizations dedicated to animal welfare and rights. Since 2017, she has made the decision to no longer use new animal by-products (such as silk, wool, etc.).
Valérie Dumaine's collections are entirely sustainably made in Canada. The designer sometimes uses "upcycled fabrics," which are recovered materials used as raw resources, diverting them from landfills and incineration. When possible, Valérie uses fabrics made from natural and/or eco-friendly fibers.
The brand also aims to maintain a close, respectful, and long-term relationship with its subcontractors throughout Montreal.
